The Las Vegas Bass Club is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our own. Long time member and one time club president Faustino "Bam" Alamillo passed away Tuesday April 5th, 2005. For me personally Bam’s passing has brought up a wide mix of emotions. I am happy for Bam because I know he has moved to a better place. I am saddened for his family and friends because I know how much he will be missed.

I first met Bam in 1987 while I was working at Findlay Subaru. A coworker told me that there was a guy over in the Findlay Olds body shop that had just bought the same boat I had just bought. I wanted to meet whoever it was that had such great taste in boats so I took a test drive over to the Olds dealer and introduced myself. We hit it off right away and soon became best friends. Bam told me about the bass club he had just joined a couple weeks before and suggested I check it out. I did and the rest is history. I have been a member of the Las Vegas Bass Club since. Bam was a well-respected member of the club and his tough but fair style made him one of the more effective and popular presidents the club has ever had.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have lost a dear friend.

I will miss you Bam!

Not only was Bam a good friend, he was also a quality angler as most of these pictures indicate. He was no stranger to the top of the heap!
